Thanks for posting such a wonderful source of Twitter information. Twitter has become quite a social media tool, hasn't it? I still have so much to learn about social marketing and all the wonderful tools the internet has to offer. But your posts have been a great impact.

I recently wrote a blog about Twitter on the internet, What the Tweet?. When you get a chance, please stop by and read it. I would appreciate any comments you have to offer on OceanZealot's Ramblings

This is a great article. I hadn't heard of this website before so I'm pretty excited to get this going. I don't really have any traffic via twitter so I thing this website can be a lot of help.
Thanks!

I find it interesting (and appreciate) all the varying thoughts and opinions on FutureTweets (and tools similar to it.) I work with and deal with small to medium size business people all day long. I find their take on tools like these are different from some of the opinions found here. It's fascinating to see those folks are more concerned with their ROI in both time and money than the "purity" of using a tool or not.
An insurance agent just contracted with my company to help him. He knows he has thousands of prewritten letters in his database that funnel into his tickler file... he send out a predetermined letter done for a predetermined reason all mapped out on a process plan. It doesnt take away from his sincerity of communicating with his clients and prospects, rather it actually helps him make sure he communicates to them EXACTLY what he means to say. He instantly saw the value of what we were trying to do with our process.
For those who feel I am saying it's done without interest or desire to build a relationship or build rapport missed my intent (and if I did not clearly spell that out I apologize.) However I deal with this stuff in real world settings with real people who want results...and so I see this tools as "one card in their hand of poker"... it works and frankly in times like these I'll take something that works anyday...everyday.

"Gone are the countless hours of sitting at the computer manually typing in Tweets."

Now you can spend countless hours sitting at the computer manually typing Tweets into a website for future use.

I guess as a business strategy for specific enterprises this can be a useful tool.

My gut tells me that it kind of defeats the purpose of the social media experience. It seems that it makes it more of a software media experience - not much "social" there. If I was following someone and I got the sense that their tweets were just generated with no interaction I would probably drop them as a follower.

It probably is a worthwhile tool for some folks but not my cup of tea, thanks.

Cheers

@styletime "So basically your not really IN to social media are you!?" Actually yes I am. , like many including you, I have work to do and really can't afford to be in a waiting mode for interaction. I like FutureTweets for the primary reason of effectiveness. I'm not talking about being a mindless "borg" who doesn't care to respond (just posting)...rather just the opposite. I can set up a campaign and spend time interacting with those who reply to me.

In no way am I endorsing nor ever encouraging people to do the "set-it-and forget-it" type of tweeting. But setting up a process/system does not connotate interaction-free tweets either. As with all things there is a balance to be found.

I have number of clients right now who we set up this process for...and no one has complaints. We work with them to make sure this type of tool doesn't turn into a "spamming tool".

@DerekHalpern I have over 1300 followers and frankly have many more people who thank me for my posts and really don't remember of getting any complaints that I dont respond to their tweets. I would ask people try a system before saying it doesnt work. As with any system there are always tweak to be made... and always checking our intentions.

@Jorn Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I was suddenly called out of town with a client and arrived back today and will make sure to have it posted today. Again, thanks for the heads up...

@hendrylee I get many responses to my THOUGHTS (quotes) I do on Twitter. People tell me they agree, appreciate the quote or retweet it...
