Hi Claire. Great post.

Just today I was thinking about the subject of being "authentically me." That's what people get, when they get me. How do I do this? Just by staying true to who I am and not losing my voice. This means on Twitter, you'll find I am very serious and hard working some of the time, and at other times I just plain have fun. Sometimes I do both at the same time! I work hard and play hard -- both are a part of who I am.

To be authentically who one is, not worrying what others may think, one must have self esteem and confidence. Because it's about risking -- sharing then seeing what happens.
A few people in your network may not accept you when you decide to do this, especially if they perceive you as not fitting into their association. But so what! Being "authentically yourself" means laying your head down on your pillow at night and being at peace -- knowing that you stayed true to yourself, your friends, and your beliefs regardless of whether you gained or lost 30 followers that day. That makes being authentic all the worthwhile...

Well Said... It's really that simple, no hidden agendas Connect, Share & Be!

Being yourself is really critical... The Twitter-World can smell a phony guru, coach, expert... from a mile away. "Do You! It's a Statement... Not a Question!"

I'm a Pastor, but also love web design and marketing. So I may appeal to one crowd while turning off the other - too businessy for the religious tweeps or too 'churchy' for the business-minded people. I decided not to care. I'm a person of faith, I'm a business-minded person who loves design and I'm going to tweet about it all. If I lose followers, so be it. I'm me. @justinsrefuge, our Youth Pastor, often texts me to "BBC," which for him means Be Brandon Cox.

Very cool thoughts you've shared - love'em!
