Do You Log In to Twitter.com To Tweet? [POLL]

I’ve added a new poll to our sidebar poll rotation (there are two now). This one is attempting to gauge how many people actually log into Twitter.com to Tweet and how many people use some kind of external client (like Twhirl, TweetDeck, Ping.fm etc).

Do You Tweet from Twitter.com or an external Twitter Client?

Once you’ve voted – tell us which client you use in comments below.

I use Twitteriffic for the Mac. I’ve used other clients, both apps and online, and keep coming back to Twitteriffic. It does most of what I need it to do and none of what I don’t need it to do. Incidentally, I replaced the annoying notification sounds with a nice, polite chirp!

  • November 10, 2008

I only use twitter.com when I exceed my rate limit, like during Apple keynotes and elections.

  • November 10, 2008

    I use iTweet.

  • November 10, 2008

I love @twhirl. I like the features of TweetDeck, but it has a lot of wasted space between text and boxes and stuff.

  • November 10, 2008

I used to only use twitter.com, then I found Twhirl and I haven’t looked back.

  • November 10, 2008

I use Twirl, until the dinging of new tweets gets on my nerves. Then I’ll go to the web page.

  • November 10, 2008

I jump between twitterfox and tweetdeck.

  • November 10, 2008

I use Twitter.com. I find that the Twitter clients are more of detraction for me while I work.

I can control my Twitter habit better when I have to log in to actually do it. :)

  • November 10, 2008

I have only been on Twitter for about a week and am impressed at its scope for networking, promoting my Online tutor business, expanding my ability to just help others out, and increased my access to learning new things.

  • November 10, 2008

i use tweetdeck on my computer, and twitdroid for my android/G1 phone. love tweetdeck for the search function and ability to see replies separately. sadly, twitdroid doesn’t work most of the time on the G1, but it’s a cool app

  • November 10, 2008

I use twhirl on my laptop, and text messaging from my cell.

  • November 10, 2008

Use twitterfox mostly although I’ve been looking for other options as I find sometimes it doesn’t update even though twitter has.

  • November 10, 2008
    ElementsOfJazz

I use TweetDeck to do 95% of my tweets/DMs. I log into Twitter.com mainly to check the status of the network.

  • November 10, 2008

I use http://itweet.net. I guess that falls into the category of “client”. I don’t run any of the actual Twitter software. Wastes too much ram/cpu to me.

  • November 10, 2008

I mainly use Twhirl but sometimes log in to twitter.com particularly when by request rate has been exceeded.

  • November 10, 2008

I almost exclusively use TweetDeck when I am at a PC. I use m.twitter.com on my phone or just SMS. I also use Posterous to post from my phone and copy content to other locations.

  • November 10, 2008

I use tweetdeck for the moment, but sometimes go straight to the site.

  • November 10, 2008

I use Twhirl, this keeps me informed of new tweets when I’m online and Twinkle on my iPhone.

  • November 10, 2008

Twitterrific is all you need. The app is actually one of the main reasons I started using Twitter regularly.

  • November 10, 2008

I use ping.fm mostly because I need to update several sites at once, and when I’m not using that I’m using Twinkle on my iPhone.

  • November 10, 2008

I’m trying out TweetDeck at the moment but have spent some time with Twitteriffic, TwitterPod, Twhirl, and a very short stint with Spaz. Will probably keep trying a few more. At the moment Tweetdeck or Twhirl are probably my preferred clients.

  • November 10, 2008

I tried twitbin, but didn’t like it. So I always use the website now. It keeps me from spending too much time tweeting!

    Kimberlee

  • November 10, 2008

If you’re only using the website, I don’t think you’re getting 100% out of twitter. I may simply be jaded by how I use twitter, but the site itself is just so lacking

  • November 10, 2008

I use Twitterfox, since I am already working on Firefox most of the time.

  • November 10, 2008

I’ve moved from Twirl to Digsby. Both are fantastic.

  • November 10, 2008

In most cases I use twhirl. Just in a few cases I am tweeting from twitter.com

  • November 10, 2008

I use Twhirl almost all of the time (unless there are “issues”). The only time I log into twitter.com is to change my avatar.

  • November 10, 2008

I answered, “Never log on…”, but I do for about 1 in a 100 tweets. Usually only if I’m there for some other reason (e.g. checking out someone’s profile).

  • November 10, 2008

I only use the website. I try to avoid being constantly connected and/or interrupted, so I don’t want a client or other application/widget that makes it too easy to receive updates or tweet. By going to the site, I can limit my twitter activities to just a few times a day.

  • November 10, 2008

I use Twitter almost all the time to Tweet, although I have used Blip.fm and ping.fm a couple of times.

  • November 10, 2008

I always login into Twitter at work to get around annoying proxy conflicts but also because I enjoy the improvements in the interface. At home or out an about, I generally use a combination of iPhone Twitter apps (post coming!) for an optimal experience or if I’m on a computer then Twirl or Tweetdeck.

  • November 10, 2008

Tweetdeck is the client of choice at the moment, only logging in occasionally.

  • November 10, 2008

I like TwitterFox when I’m home and TwitterBerry when I’m out.

  • November 10, 2008
    John Roach

I use twhirl most of the time, but I often bounce around clients, looking for the new hotness.

  • November 10, 2008

I use Twitterfox about 85% of the time. If I want to flolow a conversation thread I login, Twitterfox sucks at that. It does allow easy switching between multiple accounts and since I am often using a clients account as well as my own that is a godsend.

The rest of the time (about 25% of total use) I use my cell phone to text tweets and I use the Twittelator app on my iPod Touch.

  • November 10, 2008

I use ping.fm to update my networks, Twitter when I have the time to follow a conversation and/or other’s tweets.

  • November 10, 2008

I love ping.fm. I get to add entries to twitter, plurk, pownce, identi.ca,rejaw, kwitty

  • November 10, 2008

    I use Ping.fm and TweetDeck.

  • November 10, 2008

I’ve looked into Twhirl, but for now just use Twitter.com for the same reason as Kimberlee. I’ve got enough Internet addictions already!

  • November 10, 2008

I use twitterific on the iphone and on my mac. I’ve tried other clients and none of them come even CLOSE.

  • November 10, 2008

I use tweetdeck occasionally but mostly tweet from twitter.com and m.twitter.com from blackberry. Am looking to explore twhirl, twitterific and others to see what I like the best.

Getting my G1 this week and will be looking for advice on what to use for tweeting from there. Mobile more than in front of computer nowadays!

  • November 10, 2008
    Tim

I use Twhirl about 95% of the time. Web for the rest.

  • November 10, 2008
    Aulia

I log in to the site to check new followers and to catch up on overnight tweets but i tweet mainly from Twitterrific on my Mac. When mobile I use m.twitter or m.slandr. Not an iPhone owner. Yet.

  • November 10, 2008

I just found TweetDeck and I love it. I will use it more than Twitter now. So I voted for combination.

  • November 10, 2008

I use slandr on mobile and iTweet on desktop. I used to use Tweetdeck on desktop but it froze up on me do often, I finally uninstalled it.

  • November 10, 2008
    Elizabeth

I’ve just started; less than 2 weeks. JohnHaydon turned me onto iTweet.net, which I think is terrific!

  • November 10, 2008

I use twitterific for the mac. It seems to work well for my purposes. I haven’t figured out how to tweet images with it yet, but they say it can do it.

  • November 10, 2008

I use twhirl, twitterberry, and also just use twitter.com Intend to try Twitteriffic soon.

  • November 10, 2008

I’m still very new to Twitter, and tried a few of the apps mentioned above. However, those using Adobe Air eventually caused so much memory usage, I’d end up shutting them down to recover. So I switched to Twitterlicious, and haven’t looked back. It’s only for the pc, as it requires Microsoft Net Framework.

I also have Twitterbar installed (Firefox addon) but haven’t used it more than once or twice.

  • November 10, 2008

    I use tweetip :)

  • November 10, 2008

I use Twitterrific, which is fabulous! Thanks for asking. I also use Twitterfon on my iPhone.

  • November 10, 2008

I use TweetDeck most often. Occasionally (very rarely) will use Twhirl or the web.

  • November 10, 2008

I use Twhirl on my home office computer. But when traveling, I usually log in to Twitter.com, which I plan to change once I get my new MacBook. I really don’t prefer it.

  • November 10, 2008
  • November 10, 2008
    Diego

I sometimes use TweetDeck and sometimes TwitterBar (For Firefox)… But most of the time I log in to Twitter.com

  • November 10, 2008

I use TwitterFox exclusively – I’ve tried most things, but it’s the best and most unobtrusive (in terms of desktop real estate) for me.

  • November 10, 2008

I used to use Spaz the most, but I’ve taken to just going through Twitter and I kinda like it.

    Cheers

    George

  • November 10, 2008

I use Tweetr (PC) and Twhirl (Mac) to keep up with the constant influx of tweets, but they have limits as to how many they will display, so if I want to read back more than 20 tweets I have to go to the main page.

I started out with TwitterBar Firefox extension, but that’s just for posts, doesn’t show you who’s tweeting. I thought TweetDeck looked interesting but it won’t run on my computer (Windows 2000).

  • November 10, 2008

I use straight twitter.com. I’m still a newbie and don’t know to use the others.

  • November 10, 2008

Typically use Twhirl. Sometimes I get on Tweetdeck.

  • November 10, 2008

I log on to Twitter always, although I use the Tweet This links on my blog to expedite Twittering (the plugin shortens URLs in advance and pre-fills the Twitter box with the URL and post title), and the “Tweet any page” bookmarklet at Th8.us (bottom of page) has a permanent spot on my Firefox bookmarks toolbar. There are other solutions, but I like these because they’re simple and fast and I created them. I recall a plugin that auto-posts your blog posts to Twitter, but I prefer writing my own tag in under 140 characters for each broadcast tweet.

I’m surprised how many third-party interfaces have built up around Twitter, and how widely they’re used. 24% of people don’t even go to Twitter, and 45% only sometimes. Of course, this poll is skewed toward the Twitter-savvy… this whole blog is, for that matter. Not that I mind!

  • November 10, 2008

Someone introduced me to tweetdeck shortly after I found twitter, if it weren’t for the app, I probably wouldn’t enjoy using twitter. It’s organized and helps me see my replies and Direct messages right away. I don’t log into twitter, only to see how many followers or when I want to search for someone to follow.

  • November 10, 2008

Twitterfox or Twitthat for Firefox Always!

  • November 10, 2008

I use a combination of Tweetdeck, FireStatus, and Twitterberry

  • November 10, 2008

    Twhirl, sometimes twitterfox

  • November 10, 2008

I use OutTwit, since I live in Outlook all day long. Makes it very convenient for me. Plus I can create groups using the Search Folder feature. I also use my Ping.fm email address to tweet via my Outlook email interface. Again, it’s a matter of convenience for me.

  • November 10, 2008

I use tweetdeck unless it’s jammed up with Apple chat…
I keep changing mobile clients and haven’t found one I like.

I wish less people would use the web interface so more improvements could be made on the back end

  • November 10, 2008

I used the site exclusively once they killed AIM (i.e. the firehose), but Tweetdeck allows me to handle the volume of Tweets coming in, in new and different ways.
The power of Twitter, is that you find what works for you, and use it!

  • November 10, 2008

I use both the web and tweetdeck.

  • November 10, 2008

I use Tweetdeck on my PC and Twitterific on my iPhone.

  • November 10, 2008

twhirl or txt from my cell phone. I’ll use the web when I have time.

  • November 10, 2008

I honestly haven’t been able to get anything else to WORK, so yeah, I do all my Tweeting through Twitter.com. Which also means I can only Tweet when I’m sitting in front of my computer, here at home–not from work (which has it blocked), not from my old-school flip cellphone that just has numbers and a small screen. Just the computer!

  • November 10, 2008

I use Twitterpod on my Mac, but when I’m on others’/public computers I use the web. I also txt from my cell phone.

  • November 10, 2008

I use TweetDeck on my PC and TinyTwitter or TwitterBerry on my Blackberry. Occasionally web when to many api calls occur.

  • November 10, 2008

I used to use Twhirl, but now I always log onto Twitter.com.

  • November 10, 2008

Twhirl, it sits on the right hand side of my screen, allowing me to use the rest of the screen for whatever I am working on…

  • November 10, 2008

Lately I use Tweetdeck on my Mac, and m.slandr.net on my mobile.

  • November 10, 2008

I generally use Twhirl on my personal computer, but at work I don’t have the ability to install anything on the computer there so I use Twitter.com in that case.

  • November 10, 2008

I use TweetDeck on the desktop and the web anywhere else.

  • November 10, 2008

Twhirl for the most part, though it’s a little clunky… I like Twitterfox better, but I switch between browsers all the time so it’s not always at hand.

  • November 10, 2008

I use the Betwittered and twittergadget clients on my igoogle page and tinytwitter on my blackjack ii when on the go.

  • November 10, 2008

I use twitterrific and the web, dependant on how busy my desktop is that day

  • November 10, 2008

You don’t have the option that I use right now, which is Twitter.com + my phone for tweeting. I’m not using another app yet, but this is a great poll because it lets me see what others have to say about what they use.

    @BarbChamberlain

  • November 10, 2008

I mostly use Twhirl at work because Twitter.com won’t load properly here, something to do with our ISP and blocks. If I’m catching up with what’s been going on or checking out profiles I use Twitter.com. I also sometimes use BeTwittered on iGoogle as it works even when twitter is blocked (twhirl doesn’t).

  • November 10, 2008

I’ve tried a bunch of clients over the last almost year I’ve been tweeting. Each one has something I don’t like about it. Keep coming back to the twitter.com site. Not the best UI, but not as annoying as some of the clients.

  • November 10, 2008
    Brett

I use Twhirl on my computer. I use Twittelator Pro on my iPhone.

  • November 10, 2008

I use twitterific for the iPhone and login into the main site from my laptop. It’s so easy either way, at least when Twitter is up.

  • November 10, 2008

    Hi,

I always login to twitter and tweet with my followers and comment daily

  • November 10, 2008

I use TweetDeck at home and send text messages from my phone when I’m out and about.

  • November 10, 2008

    Hi Darren,

I use Twhirl on my laptop, and Twitterrific on my iPhone. I also experimented with Twittelator, but found it less user-friendly than Twitterrific.

    Cheers,
    Max

  • November 10, 2008

I use TwitterFox pretty much exclusively….

  • November 10, 2008

I use TweetDeck on my laptop/main and Twitterific on my iPhone.

  • November 10, 2008

90% of my twitter activity from web
but sometimes I tweet from twhirl, twitterific, friendfeed

  • November 10, 2008
    Desfolio

I use Twitterfox on my MBP and Twitterfon on my iphone. I never login to Twitter.com unless I’m adding somebody or changing my background.

  • November 10, 2008

I use tweetdeck and sometimes login to twitter.com

  • November 10, 2008

I have two different accounts on Twitter, one very private and second much more official – I don’t want to mistake which account is which so I’m using both web and client.

  • November 10, 2008

it depends… I use twitter.com, twitterfeed.com, and gTwitter as twitter client (Linux).

  • November 10, 2008
    DavieW

I have two accounts, one fun and one business, so I use Twhirl 95% of the time.

  • November 10, 2008

tweetdeck on my linux notebook, twittelator pro on my iphone

  • November 10, 2008

I use twhirl on my computers and twitterberry on the blackberry. Use twitpic via blackberry and their website, to post images.

  • November 10, 2008

I’m a Tweetdeck man myself. So much more flexible.

  • November 10, 2008
    Stuart

Having tried almost all the Windows Clients, I now only use Tweetdeck

  • November 10, 2008

I’m not sure what a client is, but I sometimes tweet from my cell phone.

  • November 10, 2008

I most time use Twhirl , but sometimes use twitter esp to re tweet

  • November 10, 2008

I use Tweetdeck, TwitThat and Tweetlater – occasionally I’ll use ShareThis to tweet, but not very often.

  • November 10, 2008

I use Digsby when I’m logged into it (during working hours) and Twitter.com the rest of the time. I occasionally use SMS, but it’s expensive–€0,29–per text, so that’s only for special occasions. I’ll probably start SMSing more once we move back to the States.

  • November 10, 2008

I’d been using twitterfox since it first came out. I recently switched to tweetdeck. As much as I love it, Adobe Air is not working properly with my Vista install and Firefox. Clicking on a link in Tweetdeck opens in IE. I’ve had to C/P links into FF but that’s getting to be a pain.I’ve tried suggested workarounds but none have worked.

  • November 10, 2008

I use Twhirl cos’ of the instant updates. But that means I’d miss out on thousands more whenever I’m not on the client. :(

  • November 10, 2008

I use Twhirl as a client because I have two accounts. To change my avatar, I login to Twitter and on my mobile, I use slandr (m.slandr.net). And I use Twitpic from my desktop computer!

  • November 10, 2008

My use comes down to convenience and speed. Since going Flock full time as of last month I find myself using the built in social bar thingy from time to time.

  • November 10, 2008

These days I am mostly using itweet, although I do check in to twitter.com – mostly when I get notification of new followers.

I still use betwittered for iGoogle quite regularly becasue it sits there quite nicely as my browser homepage when I am supposedly just working

At home I use Twhirl quite a lot, but also the tweetburner bookmarklet & diigo toolbar for sending links

  • November 10, 2008

I don’t just use twitter, I also sleep-tweet, and am having dreams about tweeting lately. @_@!

  • November 10, 2008

I’ve been using Twhirl since I first signed up and can’t imagine using anything else to Tweet. Too simple.

  • November 11, 2008

I use Twhirl on my desktop and Twitterific on my iPhone. I’ll occasionally use Twitter.com on my laptop – just because I haven’t gotten around to installing Twhirl on it. :)

  • November 11, 2008

Twhirl. Not perfect, but just enough. I’ve tried Digsby and Yoono and they were simply trying to do too much. I’ll use TwitterBerry for the phone and Twitter.com when I’m having Twhirl issues.

  • November 11, 2008

I’ve only just started using Twitter, so it’s twitter.com for me for now

  • November 11, 2008

The only time I don’t log into Twitter is when (very occasionally) I send a text message from my cellphone. Steve

  • November 11, 2008

I almost always use tweetdeck. Sometimes I use search and when I access from work I use twhirl because it is easier to hide that tweetdeck. ;-)

  • November 11, 2008

I post to Twitter using different tools. Twinkle on the iPhone, a browser or TweetDeck on the Mac. When on the Mac I will use what ever is convenient at the time. If I was in mail and received a notice that someone is following then the link opens the browser so likely I will reply form there.

There is no killer app so far on the Mac for Twitter users. Twinkle is strongly preferred on my iPhone. I do have other apps loaded from when I was testing them.

  • November 11, 2008

I always use Twitter.com, I don’t like to download things. I tried TweetDeck for a while but never checked it because it took so long to load. So, now I just pop in and out of Twitter.com when I want.

  • November 11, 2008

Been on Twitter 2 months and have just started to use Tweetdeck which is fantastic.Usually log onto to Twitter.com though since I find it a little quicker to keep track of tweeps.
Tweetdeck good for setting up groups that you are actively participating in.

  • November 11, 2008

I use TweetDeck most and sometimes use my mobile phone too (either a sms to twitter) or email a photo to twitpic. Other tweets are automatically added via Facebook (my status) and RSS feeds (using twitterfeed), oh and the WordPress plugin Twitter Tools.

  • November 11, 2008

I mostly use twitter.com because I often have an internet window open. Its strange because I used Tweetdeck for a while and liked it.

  • November 11, 2008

I use twhirl — but when it gives me that dreaded “limit exceeded, paused 5 min” error..then I go to Twitter.com. In the world of twhirl – 5 min usually ends up being an hour, or so. Maybe it’s me? :)

  • November 11, 2008

    @mandle on twitter

    TwitKit FF extension
    Twitteriffic on iPhone

  • November 11, 2008
    Linda Wadman

Betwittered, TwitPics and Twhirl–depends on where I am and which computer I’m using.

  • November 11, 2008

I usually update from NetVibes. This lets me monitor and post from over a dozen Twitter accounts very easily.

  • November 11, 2008

I use Twitterrific, but I’m not so hip on the interface, so many times, I just log in to Twitter.

  • November 11, 2008

It depends on what else I am doing. If I have the time to concentrate on twitter I log on to twitter.com. If I am on the web besides tweeting (reading blogs or browsing websites) I use twitterfox. And when I’m on facebook I use twitter there.

  • November 11, 2008

I sometimes log into Twitter directly, but mostly use Twhirl . btw, love the new blog Darren! Now I just gotta find some interesting people who wanna follow me, so I don’t feel like I’m tweeting to a black hole.. :)

  • November 11, 2008

    I use TweetDeck

  • November 11, 2008

I almost always use Ping.fm, broadcasting (broadtweeting?) to a couple dozen different services, from Twitter and Facebook to Pownce, Jaiku, Plurk, Rejaw & others. While it’s true that the majority of my friends are on Twitter, Ping lets me reach all of my contacts easily, regardless of which microblogging or social networking service they prefer to use most often. Also, the iPhone web app for Ping (ping.fm/iphone) is an excellent client, with nice, large text and a reliable character count.

For reading tweets I usually use the regular twitter web client (on my laptop) and the mobile twitter client on my iPhone. On the iPhone will also often use the Hahlo webapp.

  • November 11, 2008

When I am home I use both tweetdeck and the twitter home page. I like tweetdeck because when you start following a lot of people it lets you group them so it makes it easier for me to keep up with tweets that way.
When I am away from a computer I use twittelator pro for the iphone. It’s the best app for twitter on the iphone I have found so far. I used to use twinkle but it would only load a few updates and I wanted to really see what people had been saying but twinkle wouldn’t let me go back. Twittelator can load up to 150 tweets! and I can copy and paste!

  • November 11, 2008

I use Twhirl, though I’m thinking of trying out some of the other clients…

  • November 11, 2008

When I’m at my computer, I use twitter.com. Still experimenting with mobile twitter apps that work on a Windows Mobile phone. Any suggestions?
    @wiredprworks on twitter.com

  • November 11, 2008

I almost exclusively use Twhirl, but once in a while I will tween from Twitter.com. I just like the convenience of following things in Twhirl, and since I’m logged into that app, it’s easier to tweet from there.

  • November 11, 2008

I use BeTwittered on iGoogle when I’m not using Twitter.com.

  • November 11, 2008

I use twalala as an SSB on my Mac using Fluid.app.

  • November 11, 2008

I use TwitterFox for the majority of my infrequent tweets and will occasionally jump onto twitter.com

  • November 11, 2008

Use twhirl mostly for twitter, but log in to catch up on tweets I had missed while i was away or sleeping.

Since I always have my blackberry with me, I usually use that to make contacts with twitter. To “broadcast” I use ping.fm. I think it is just the easiest ways to get my thoughts out there, however, when I am responding and communicating, I do right from the mobile version of twitter.com.

I use Ping.fm because I can update multiple sites

When I took the poll, I responded that I always log in, although I also use my phone. I forgot that I use BeTwittered as a plug-in on my personal blog. It seems to work fine; I’ve only had once or twice when I posted it there & then didn’t see it right away if I checked at Twitter.com.

I use ping.fm a lot – I use twitter a lot to get the word out about blog posts, and think ping.fm is great for bringing in more readers.

To reply to tweets I use twitter.com.

  • November 11, 2008

I use other websites to post to twitter. The poll widget here doesn’t work for me. (Firefox 3 and NoScript.net)

I have several Twitter accounts and use several different ways to update my status. For a quick update on something not my regular account, I’ll use Twhirl as I can use it to quickly log in to those accounts. Sometimes, I’ll have twitter.com open on one account and I’ll be logged in on another account at the same time via iTweet.

TwitterFox for Firefox is hands down the best Twitter client I’ve tried. I like it better than Twhirl and Digsby. Ping.fm works well for broadcasting, but not for following others messages. I use friendfeed as well, but not exclusively for Twitter.

I use tweetdeck, just like the look and the feel of it!

  • November 12, 2008

I use BeTwittered, an iGoogle widget. Sometimes I log in to Twitter itself — usually when I want to search for someone, reciprocate a following, or other maintenance-type work.

  • November 13, 2008

I use tweetdeck when I am going to be on for a while (evenings) or of I am involved in an event such as #gno or #classy. If I am just pooping in I will sign on to Twitter directly.

  • November 13, 2008

Depending where I am, depends how I am going to tweet, at home on my personal PC I have a various sources, but I like the client side since it helps save time and a tap in the browser. Other than that, in the pc i use, some have programs others I log on to, but also I tend to send a message from my phone.

  • November 13, 2008

    I use Twhirl.

  • November 14, 2008

    I use tweetdeck.

I like the versatility and ability to follow/unfollow with the pop-up screens.
I like the multiple views of replies, direct messages and other form of tweet queries
    without closing the browser.
I also like that I can choose the URL shorten service inside the interface.

The tweet sound also kind of keeps me company :)

P.S. Like the idea here Darren. Keep it up!

I use twittergadget (twittergadget.com) to tweet and keep up with fresh tweets from within BOTH my iGoogle homepage and GMAIL accounts.

  • November 24, 2008

If I’m on a PC I will use Twitter.com but if I’m out and about I usually use Twitteriffic

  • November 26, 2008

The only time I use the web based twitter, is when I am on a mobile phone and the gprs services is too bad. For that I use m.twitter.com. In general m.*.* sites are very light.

  • December 1, 2008

    I use twhirl.

  • December 2, 2008

I’ve tried a couple of different apps but always come back to twhirl and occasionally text to the twitter site.

  • January 11, 2009

I use either Twitter or TwitterFox. If I’m out and about I use Hahlo

I got started using Twitter.com on my desktop and soon after started using it on my Win Mobile 6.1 device (AT&T Tilt). It works and I haven’t felt a need to change. Maybe someday I’ll chance a venture on one of the popular twapps and see if it makes a difference.

    Yvonne

At home I use Tweetie for Mac. But I’m also waiting for Nambu to get out of beta.
At work I keep an eye on my work account and tweet using TwitterFox (a Firefox add-on)
On my iPod touch I use Twitterfon or Twitterrific (the latter because I can switch been personal and work accounts very easily).
I occasionally log on to twitter.com, but not to send tweets, mainly to manage follower lists and so on.

I use TweetDeck and Twitter. Both are so easy to use.

  • July 27, 2009

I mostly use Tweetdeck (work and home) but have also used HootSuite on occasions my husband also has info he wants to tweet. Like Yvonne, I generally log into twitter to manage my followers or do a search.

Am not much of a fan of twitter client websites, mostly because I don’t care that much to try it.

I rather log onto twitter.com and tweet stuff or just view my followers list or follow people.

I tried out TweetDeck about once or twice, but never really used it to it’s full potential.
