Good interview, i love the part were he say the 3 pomit to be succes on something.

1.It has to be simple
2.It has to be positive
3.It has to allow everyone to participate (meaning no inside jokes, no vertical references, etc.).

Its great than you for the interview.

I love the interaction twitter provides, especially via #FollowFriday posts. I would love to see some of the other ideas you mentioned used, such as a social change movement. I think I'll start one in the area and see if it takes off!

Yay for Micah!

i just released a brand new #FollowFriday tool on TwitterMass.com that automates the process for you every week. in essence every week you'll receive a direct message with the previous weeks recommendations for #FollowFriday. this is based on a number of things including:

- Your tweet is based partly on percentage of RT your followers have made for you.
- Your tweet is based partly on @ replies your followers have made towards you.
- Your tweet is based partly on mentions of your Twitter username.

FollowFriday started as a great idea to help others connect to people who add value to their twitter experience but has turned into a self promoting routine that now offers little value.

One of the problems with #followfriday is that so many people recommend others for the sheer goal of receiving a reciprocal recommendation, I’m guilty! This has resulted in a significant increase in number of #followfriday tweets, as well as, a great deterioration in their quality.

My recent post tells more and suggest what to do about it. If you are interested in a new radical approach read on - http://bit.ly/vZBfo

Part 1: Come to think of it, I've never used #followfriday to recommend people for *YOU* to follow but to focus on tweeps *I* follow.

Part 2: Over the past ~8 weeks, I've singled out 1-2 tweeps each Friday who I follow and provided reasons WHY I FOLLOW that person.

Part 3: So. Who to #followfriday this week? That's easy: @bobbiec, if for no other reason (and there are many), she helped me this week.

Part 4: What did @bobbiec help me with that I #followfriday her? I asked a question and she shared her honest advice on the phone. :)

...such is the four-part tweet I sent yesterday which is contrary to Micah's initial intention, but it works for me.

I think Micah should have his Twitter ID suspended
For clogging up the stream
With all this FollowFriday nonsense!
It's like Dwight Howard and his elbows
Suspend the dude!
Make him sit out a few days
Force him to think about what he wrought!

I consider #followfriday a nuisance now, because it has gotten away from his original purpose: "Mention two or three folks and why people would find them interesting." The key part there is the why. Now most of what I see are endless lists of usernames with no explanation whatsoever.

So I would like to see a return to the original purpose. Don't just list names; give me a reason. Yes, this means you have less room in 140 characters, so you may have to be more picky. Give me your best recommendation for the week, and why they are worth following.

Cool article.

This just show how one small idea really can grow on Twitterverse.

And on Friday it's kind of OK to have a little fun, and spread the word about some of your good friends and followers.

Great suggestion in the last paragraph. Creative ideas, suggestions - changes etc within 140 char and have a feedback channel for it. Bringing the power of #hastags and Twitter up to the next level.

Cheers...
