I really want Twitter to work for my business, but its just so hard to find intriguing things to tweet about related to the business. Am I just not being creative enough?

Great Post David!

To Brian, I definitely agree that twitter can be used for nearly every business. Twitter is a great way to interact with potential customers: you can get feedback, and keep your brand on your customers' minds.

As an advertiser, isn't that what you are trying to do? If you can get your customers to think about you, you have succeeded!

One of the tough things is to build your following... you need to convey that there will be value to following your business twitter.

I believe I am only at the start of Twitter - a great wealth of learnings from emerging trends, case studies, inspirations and most importantly, friendships and advice.

Wtih regards to point #1 in this post, have a look at my post (on how Domino): http://myovi.blogspot.com/2010/05/how-chicago-domino-pizza-created-raving.html > Ramon De Leon certainly walks the talk for his business!

So true! Twitter is so diverse and can actually let you be proactive in acquiring customers. I do a search for people looking for a website designer and DM them and get business that way. How many people are looking for a good restaurant, affordable landscaper or whatever else...

Brian,

Personally, I can't think of any business that Twitter would not work well for. We have used it for businesses like engineering firms to the world's largest online battery retailer. The difference between each project is there is a goal focused on that particular business. I would not use Twitter the same way for a hair salon as I would an engineering firm. Also, sometimes Twitter is the main focus, sometimes it compliments what we are already doing. Bottom line is that Twitter is an all around business tool that any business in any field can benefit from using it in some form or another.
