I’m just laughing that you need a new server in 16 days. Most of us would take 16 YEARS to get to that point.

I just found a plugin that will let me add an extra field to the comments and have one blog serving up twitter links. Anyone else who gets twitter id’s into their comments is welcome to list their site in my link directory

Hey folks,

I helped Darren out on this server move. It’s an Linode 540. We wanted the extra RAM because we’ll be putting a Rails app on the server too, and it has a tendency to eat RAM. The extra disk is also helpful, and the price is still very reasonable. The old server was shared hosting through GoDaddy.

The server is running Nginx and PHP through FastCGI. Pretty standard WordPress move: file, DB, DNS. A bunch of testing on the new plugin for the Twitter ID and the Nginx url rewriting for Wordpress and wp-supercache.

You gotta spill the beans, what server or what kind of server are you moving onto? What kind of server were you on before? I think I’m going to have to switch soon and I’m thinking about getting a really powerful and fast server. Thanks Darren!
