This is a good question. Twitter is still a social bookmarking tool where I'm trying to find my voice and have an impact!

To me, Twitter is much more than i first thought it was, a simple headline promoter. Now i use is a powerful online marketing tool to communicate with everyone who has a relationship to Music Festivals. I'm convinced we are only scratching the surface of this tool and there will be some amazing developments within the year. Just my opinion ;-)

It's a simple waste of time and resources, without no real benefits. People will get bored eventually and it will sink as fast as it rised.

Twitter is what you make out of it!!!
After a few month of light till medium use i started to get benefits of the twitter use. I think everybody is his own Twitter-Network architect. You decide either if you use it as a professional network, a way to let your friends know what you do (trivial use) or to stay at the cutting edge of the time. Nevertheless i like the way of communication and i predict microblogging (dont know if i like the term or not) a big future.

Twitter is my personally customized global business intranet that helps me get and share information I might not get in the same effectivity elsewhere (but the new friendfeed might catch up)

Twitter forces me to think crisply.
Like any other internet tool,
I can use it to forward my thinking, just relax with inane banter or misuse it.
I would rather stick to the first two!!!!

I love how you use Twitter as a medium of communication, Darren.

It's a really funny thing because I was just talking to someone offline about Twitter today. Twitter to me is like a treasure house of really cool links where I can learn more about a particular subject I'm interested in. It also means a really neat place I can promote, too. Which I do. ;o)

Twitter is first of all a listening post, where I can hear others talk about topics I'm interested in.

It's also a broadcast post, where I can share my ideas, my links, and my likes and dislikes.

Lastly, it's also a connection post, where I can connect with the people I've met, and have yet to meet, all in 140 characters or less.
