12. Why not?
I'd rather push my work on complete strangers who are more willing to look through my stuff rather than annoying my friends all the time on FB to read my writing. The joys of Twitter. :)

Just found this post...as a RT on Twitter! Just last week I wrote this post Why Should You Twitter For Business? 5 Excellent Reasons for my subscribers. Then went out for drinks with friends who spent several minutes dissing Twitter. I used to evangelize about it; now I just smile, keep my mouth shut and quietly build my biz with it.

I'm a relative newcomer to Twitter. In my work, I promote the use of social media by businesses. This post should help me present my case more effectively. I think one of the Catch-22's about Twitter is that you really have to experience it to appreciate what it can do. Unfortunately, many non-users only pay attention to the spread of rumours, etc., on Twitter. Or they're thrown off by the way one reads Twitter messages. They can seem so disembodied until you know how to put them together, snippets of conversation coming at you from all over.

I'm enthralled by social media and all that can be done with it — and it's just in its infancy. Ten years from now, social media use may just be as ubiquitous as cell phone use today. Of course, ten years from now, the social media of today will probably look almost primitive (kind of like a Commodore-64 computer)!

Thanks for the reply Justin. Another question, somewhat of a follow up to your response. I read somewhere that its not wise to have on Twitter a disproportionate amount of followings versus followers. What's your opinion on that?

WOW, didn't expect such a positive response, thought for sure someone would have written something similar before. Thanks to all who gave positive comments.

@@mvfilmsociety Facebook and Twitter are different in terms of growth strategies. You need to source the people who will impact your business and start following them, be it consumer or industry colleague. Interact with them, pose questions and get involved. Use the Twitter search directories to find these ppl. It takes time but it is worth it.

@abogaciaglobal great to hear, stick around, I never saw the value at the start but now it is my most used site by far.
